ICU Audit – Mechanical Ventilation is a structured clinical audit tool, available as a Google Form and printable PDF, designed to support safe, evidence-based mechanical ventilation practices in the Intensive Care Unit.

The audit evaluates key domains of ventilatory care, including:

  • Compliance with local mechanical ventilation protocols

  • Appropriateness of ventilator settings and alarm configuration

  • Regular monitoring of ventilatory parameters (PIP, EtCO₂, cuff pressure)

  • Documentation of daily ventilator review, weaning criteria, and readiness for extubation

  • Assessment and prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP)

  • Sedation and analgesia practices during mechanical ventilation

Data can be collected electronically using the Google Form for easy aggregation and reporting, or via the PDF version for paper-based audits. The tool supports routine ICU audit cycles, governance reporting, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
